Since I got such a screaming deal on the Tacoma wheels and tires but need spacers to run them, the 
gave the OK to order a pair of spacers for the front axle, and if I can find one for a good price, go ahead with the FZJ80 rear end swap once I get a civilian job lined up (which will let us use some of my severance pay to get a few things wrapped up).
I want the 80 rear for several reasons: Toyota discs with integrated parking brake (won't need to spend $350 for a tcase parking brake kit from TSM), electric locker (which I hope to fab a cable actuator for; failing that I'd get the Slee electric controller), and it's 4" total wider than the factory 60/62 axle so I wouldn't have to spend $250 for a pair of spacers for the rear (to say nothing of just not having to introduce another point of possible failure).
So anyway, I'm asking the help of local Cruiserheads. If you catch wind of or come across an FZJ80 rear, give a brother a shout. Not asking for you guys to actively search, but just if you become privy to one available let me know
I have a close friend who's going to check the wrecking yards near Yokota AB when he goes to Japan next month and see if it'd be worthwhile to get one freighted over here. He's seen some for less than $100 for the complete full float assembly with locked third member, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that too.
