Fellow mudders,
I have been a 93' FzJ owner for 8 years. I love my rig and have come to realize that it is very distinct in performance and looks. Recently though, I have gotten the bug for a new ride and I think the 100 would suit me well. I found one locally and wanted to see what the forum thought of the deal.
1999 100 series Land Cruiser with 104k. Does not look like it was ever wheeled from my inspection. It served as a family hauler most of its life. This 100 is located in Long Island New York. I checked the undercarriage and it was quit clean. No dents or scratches and all power goodies work. Engine bay was real clean.Owner wants 10k. What do you think about the price.

sounds pretty good! Check if timing belt has been done

I'd agree that $10k sounds pretty good if it is in relatively good condition with little rust. But, as pbr said, not having the 100k service done would be a great negotiating point if you want to get a little extra taken off. Also, detailed service records would could go a long way in helping the decision.

I bought my SoCal rust free '98 LX with 94k miles about 6 months ago for $10.5k.
^what they said on 100k maintenance.

Sounds like a good deal, if rust wasn't an issue.

Buy the best serviced and most detailed maintenance history 100 series you can afford.

Keep the 80.

I think that is a killer price provided it is rust free. That is extremely low mileage and while the 80's are absolute classics, it is not like the 100 Series does not have attributes going for it.
