As I’m slowly recommissioning my Land Cruiser following a period off the road due to water damage, I’m finding lots of faults I’d either forgotten about or have developed in the time it has stood still!
The latest issue was that the touch screen (and the function buttons to the side) would work for a few seconds after start up then time out and not respond.
This meant I had limited climate control as only a handful of the buttons under the screen worked.
A seemingly unrelated issue was that the drivers side temperature control was stuck on low and didn’t ‘beep’ with a press of the button.
Turns out, this was a sticky micro switch which was permanently closed circuit.
To my surprise, this was also to blame for the touch screen and side buttons not working!
