Funny noise when start up on my 2000 LC100

Some where in the engine compartment makes the "Ta Ta Ta" noise for 2 or 3 mins (Which almost sounds like an old VW Beetle diesel), when it starts up each time, after that everything goes "Very" quiet.

Is it the drive belt or pulley? The LC is new to me, what am I looking for?

sounds like a cracked exhaust manifold. It is one of the few chronic issues with these cruisers

Is it a serious issue, I have a 200 miles road trip ahead of me.

Not a big deal...

If it's the manifold - it's not a serious issue.

I'd make sure it is the manifold, or gasket, however. I could hear mine when I accelerated and the ta-ta-ta would increase in frequency. The noise should be more noticeable when the engine is cold...when it warms up it should be more muffled. Good luck!

That is exactly like mine, but since it is 90 degree out there, after I rolled up all the windows, I do not hear any more funny "Ta".
