Thought I'd share some pics and a video link from Thursday of last week. I was contacted by a friend to help recover some UTV's, the story goes that on the previous Sunday they were on the Turkey Creek trail behind Cleator, just below Crown King. As you all know Sunday was rainy and the Bradshaw's saw a lot more rain than the valley. Well they thought the Creeks would get easier the further up the trail they went, and on the 5th crossing 3 UTV's were caught by the creek. The video and pics are from the way in, but on the way out my F-350 thats locked up on 38's, with a Warn 16.5, running straight waste veggie was carrying a RAZR in the bed, towing a CJ5 on 42's with a dead starter, and helping an FJ40 with a destroyed rear U-joint through all the water crossings. I hate Ford's, but the Mule always gets me home. Just an offer to any CSC members, if you are ever that stuck, where no one could get you out, feel free to hit me up on here. This is a hobby of mine when we have these wonderful storms, if only we had enough mud to make a living doing it! The poster of the Youtube videos has a few more up that are from when all the trucks were running. The Rubicon that was with us surprised the hell out of me, not that i'd buy one now, but just saying. Maybe Jeep did finally get it right (after 50 years).

Some more. The Ramcharger and FJ40 are both on 38's. The Rubicon, Ford, Ramcharger and UTV's ran, but the UTV's needed to be towed through the crossings each time. We started @ 8:30am and were back @ Cleator around 8pm. Partially because during the recovery we had too many chiefs and not enough indians.

I was wondering what became of that situation. glad everything was recovered. Did the helipcopter you mentioned need to be used to spot them?

Were the surprised by a flood or did they really try to cross a raging wash? That kind of water looks pretty obvious that a UTV should not attempt. I guess "obvious" is a relative term.

No chopper needed to spot them, they were down off the Turkey Creek trail behind Cleator. They were crossing each creek crossing as it was raining, and I'm sure it was deeper when it happened 4 days prior to us going out there, it was a family outing also... This is how off-roaders get a bad name, but no one was hurt and everything was recovered.
