Does anyone have a recommendation on a shop in the CLT area that can do at good job on a repaint at a reasonable price. I am down to base coat in a few areas and it is only a matter of time until rust begins. I don't want to go for a super high-end job as I still plan to trail occasionally and I'd rather not be crying each time I add some pin stripes, but I am also not looking to do the cheapo Macco route.

Thanks!
Eric

Call Mike. He done a complete color change on my 99 and upgraded front in to a 06-07 front end for $3500. I think he said for a same color paint job 2500-3000.

That looks great and appreciate the recommendation, but I was hoping for something in the Charlotte area. Looks like Mike is out in the Rocky Mount area, which is a pretty good haul for me.

It was pearl. He had to go with black primer then shot it with green. I was actually going to paint it the Amazon green that Toyota offered on the fj200. We painted it a Land Rover green
Good to know! Mine is opalescent mica so going to a darker green has to be easier than going from pearl! Thanks again!

It has been a while but IIRC, @77cruiser had a repaint done in CLT at one point and I think was happy with the results but cannot recall where he took it.

Either way, I am interested as well and subscribed...

I appreciate the tip on CarMetrics. I called Jeff and he was really helpful, but unfortunately they are already booked for the YEAR and not taking any resprays! Apparently everyone in Charlotte has forgotten how to drive and is just crashing into each other. It looks like Maaco may be my best option at this point. The South Blvd location quoted me at $2500 for their top tier package if I take my Slee bumpers and ARB roof rack off myself.

I would drive to SC and let @NCFJ do it for that much! At least you'll have someone who cares doing your work.

@NCFJ : looks like you need to make that paint booth a permanent fixture...

I had my Tacoma painted about six months ago by Minor Mistakes in Concord. 704 795 5176
They fixed a couple of decent dents in the driver door, rust on the roof and hood, resprayed the whole thing. $4500
Not the cheapest, but excellent work and turned it around in less than a week.

I am not interested in paint work unless it is part of an overall build. Just primer and paint on my wife's truck was $1,700.00 Very labor intensive job. $4,500.00 is dirt cheap.

I got three or four quotes over a period of about a year and they were all in that ball park. The problem was trying to find someone to do the work. Most of the shops I talked to make their living off of insurance claims and didn't have time for a one off like mine. Minor Mistakes didn't bat an eye and just put me in line.
I agree that $4500 is a good price, I was basing my "not the cheapest" comment on some other prices that were posted earlier in this thread.
