full or semi-floating axles..??

How can I tell if I have a full floating axle or a semi-floating axle. Are there visual signs that distinguish one from the other?
Also what's the advantage of one over the other?

The spindle and hub will stick out through the center of the rim on a full floater. On a semi floater, the axle end is pretty much flush with the rim.

If it's a Canadian Hj60 is most likely has a Semi-floating axle

A full Floater has a hub sticking out like the front axle

Semi floater sits flush with the wheel.

Here is a pic of a full floating Axle notice how the hub sticks out.
