X2 on applying silicone to the cone washers. It will actually be easier to get them out of there than if they were just put in dry and rusted themselves in. Anti-seize is ok too.
When taking silicone-sealed stuff apart I spray some non-chlorinated brake cleaner on the silicone and it sort of makes it release from the metal after a few minutes, works great for cleaning up gasket surface areas too!
