Good idea. I don’t know enough about my current stock one. I would like to find out if it has a thermostat switch or not. And if so, how it plays with a Racor unit.

Stock one is actuated by vacuum. Thick fuel increases vacuum and turns on the heating element.

The racor one has its own thermostat built into its electronics. Turns on and off by its self. From a quality stand point , I would not worry... racor builds far more of the OEM setups than you could imagine. there are 2 different water in fuel probs for the setup I used. One has the detection electronics built into the sensor , the other does not and requires a goofy external alarm box to be installed under your dash. I no longer own the truck but Nolan on this site does. The water in fuel probe with the electronics built in outputs a ground signal . There are 3 wires, one is switched power, one ground and one output. I can’t remember if the light on the dash needs power or ground , but if it needs power a simple relay would solve the grounded output problem.
