Approx. 36" long x 1 3/4" wide and a good 1/4" thick. I would consider it a felt?

Any ideas on where to get something like this?

Thanks, Matt

Cut and pasted from there site. I'm thinking SAE-F-3,7 and 13 are in cut to length forms. Order up 12 feet and cut into what I need? All come in 1 1/2" widths? Which one do you think would work the best? F-3 has the highest vibration and abrasion absortion rate. I'm kinda leaning towards that.

Matt

Grade
Graded wool felt is made of interlocking pure wool fibers that are worked together by pressure, moisture, and vibration, instead of by weaving or knitting. It is unaffected by sunlight and maintains its original form even after long periods of stress. It has fair resistance to diluted alkalis and good-to-fair resistance to concentrated acids, except F-26 felt which has poor resistance to acids. Temperature range for all of the SAE-graded felt is -80° to +200° F; maximum temperature of the rubber-based adhesive found on adhesive-back felt is 180° F.

Typical applications include:

• vibration dampening
• filtering gases, vapors, and liquids
• lubrication wicking, coating, and wiping • polishing, grinding, deburring, and burnishing
• sealing, spacing, and padding between rigid parts
• packing and gasketing

Looking at Mcmaster I thought one of my suppliers might have the same stuff. I needed that to jump start my head Brett

I just got off the phone with MSC and ordered 4 - 5ft lengths of SAE F-3 felt in 1 1/2" x 1/4". I should have it next Wed. It has the highest rate of abrasion resistence and absorbtion, so I figured probably the best stuff for my application.

Thanks, Matt
