So I recently noticed that my charcoal cannister wasn't working and causing pressure to build up in the fuel system causing the fuel cap to overflow after parking. As suggested by members on the forum, I went ahead and swapped the hoses on the charcoal cannister and the problem went away. I don't get any pressure in the fuel system even when I open the fuel cap.

The issue i did noticed is that the last few times I filled the tank, the fuel would always overflow because the gas station's fuel pump wouldn't automatically stop. I thought it was an issue with the gas station but its happened at a few gas stations. Fuel just overflows all over the side of the fuel filler and onto the paint and I need to clean it up. Any ideas?

fill slower when you're getting full. You can hear it when it's getting ready to barf.
But if you lock off the fuel handle when filling and then go do something else, expect gasoline to vomit out the fill pipe at some stations

This is the way. Just listen closely and be patient. There is a fix to the problem in the thread that you tagged, but this is a best way to prevent it until then.

There may be something wrong with this:

I only lock the lever at the half way position and stand there until I hear it getting close, then I manually finish it up nice and slow.

You may need a new gas cap gasket or just replace the whole cap if gas is coming out while you're running.
