Fuel Leak

so I replaced the Fuel Dampner on my 1990 FJ62 and haven't gotten the fuel to stop leaking from there since. I imagine it's just a matter of putting the washers in the right order or whatever belongs between the:
fuel rail - fuel line - dampner

any help would be greatly appreciatd since this is the last thing to be leaking less the oil but who cares about that

PS this is the dampner for those that may be questioning what it is i'm talking about.

You should have a copper washer on the fuel rail, then the fuel line, then another copper washer, then the fuel damper. ToyoDIY.com

Did you get new washers?

it didn't come with new washers and I must have lost the second one when I pulled off the original dampner. thanks for the help, i'll see if i can dig up some new ones.

If you can't find new, and you do find the missing used one there is a way to restore their usefulness. Get a propane torch, a piece of wire, and a cup of water. Holding a washer on the wire heat it with the torch until glowing, then dump it into the water. Unlike steel, this anneals copper and it will seal again.

If the sealing surface(s) have grooves crushed into them I recommend first filing them flat, then annealing. This is something that I do a lot at my work.

The washer that goes between the dampener and the fuel line is a special washer, it has "spokes" to keep a space around the bottom of the dampener, a regular washer doesnt work there. The washer between the line and rail is a normal round washer.

thanks, i've still got the copper washer so I'll torch that and see if I can find a another washer to fit on the fuel rail.

Depending on the thickness of those spokes, be careful with heating them.
