Hey all, I am in need of a little help/ advice. I twisted the white plastic knob in the picture and it popped up allowing fuel to leak out around the base. I am guessing it is a bleed for the fuel system, what is the best way to get it to go back down? I can sort of push it down a little but am a little nervous about forcing it or breaking something,

Thanks for any help,

Its the primer pump, push down and rotate to tighten. If you can't push it down, start the engine and try again.

If it's leaking it needs to be replaced.

Yep, found it here, wouldn't push down after a start but I loosened the bleed screw by the fuel filter and that allows me to push it down,

I tried searching before but had no luck, thx for the help Aussie, I will look into it for replacement, when it's up there is some fuel leaking around the base,

Cheers,

I've got a Bosch 2447222126 on my 2H as replacement for leaky original. Works well, well priced and doesn't have to be screwed back down.

They often let air in and extend the cranking time and then the batteries go flat and starter motors wear out before their time. As mentioned, the bosch seems to be a hardier unit.
