I can find my fuel filter?

I searched the posts and some say replace it from the top of the engine bay, and others say remove the DS wheel and replace it through the wheel well.

I still can’t see the darn thing from the top though.

Also something was mentioned about “slotting the filter” what in the world does that mean?

Anyone got a picture where this goes; even the FSM only shows a partial picture of the filter being bolted to something from the bottom up?

It's on the DS, just behind the oil filter. It was easiest for me to remove it with the DS tire off and using some socket extensions.

When people talk about slotting it, it's a heaven sent. Basically you will cut away the material in the mounting bracket that is nearest the engine block. Then start the bolt into position and slide the slotted bracket into place and tighten....you'll understand it more when you locate it and see the position you need to be in to get at the bolts. Then just place the second bolt, connect the lines, and you're done.

Good luck.

Here it is in relation to the PHH. It's the black cylinder in the lower left corner of the pictures with the bolt on the end of it. I found it most easily by looking up fromthe bottom. For me this was a PITA of two feet worth of extensions on the wrench, cross threaded bolts, and a bolt that was near impossible to get started and I could have had the dealer put it in for an extra 30 or so. Well worth the aggravation and gas up the nose.

Fuel Filter Changing

Yea PITA says it best, when I finally was able to get the thing off the mount getting everything back together was the worst. I was able to lay under the truck & kinda wedge my arms from the bottom up to hold it while using 1/4 wobble sockets & LOOONG extension to start the bolts. I found by wrapping shop raggs around your arms when gas comes down it won't burn the pits.

OK I found it, and it doesn't look very location friendly for a guy with size baseball glove mits.

I think Gary said it best, for $30 let someone else do it if possible.

Thank you for everyones help.
