1998 LX 470. This pump was replaced by myself about 5 mos ago. A Denso unit as I recall. The filter under the hood replaced too. As can be seen the piece of flexible tubing has failed. It is the piece included with pump. Question is, is it a random fail or what else could be causing possible over pressure and pop this piece?
Anybody else experience this?
Thank you,
Eric

Is that hose that you installed when you swapped the pump?

I'd use a new piece of quality fuel hose (or even the OEM part) and some fuel clamps/constant tension instead of the worm gear. Fix it and you're probably good to go.

Hose was probably defective.

Sorry missed that it was the included piece.

Yeh I've replaced 2 pumps in 2 different cruisers in the last year. Used denso in one and toyota aisin pump in the other.

Re-used the original hose and clamps with one and used new toyota hose and clamps in the other. No issues with either of them.
