I'm trying to figure out how i could mount some fuel cans to my truck to up the range on my prado. Unfourtunately, i'm not able to mount cans on the roof rack, beause all the real estate up there is being taken up by my Columbus roof tent.
I was thinking of maybe trying to track down a ladder to attatch to the rear barn door of the truck, and then somehow mount some Scepter Mil. Spec. can holders to that. Anyone think this is a bad idea? I've seen a Discovery with this type of set up, with a single can mounted to the ladder. Should i be worried about the extra weight of 20L of diesel on the door? Or 40L if i could rig the setup to hold two cans?
Is anyone aware of any canadian laws about not driving with a couple fuel cans strapped to the back of your truck?
