June 1983 FJ 60. The reason I am selling my truck is I just bought a 1990 FJ 75 and I don't need two "older" Landcruisers. My wife just bought a 19' Center Console and it would be nice to have a 100 series or possibly a 80 series for her to tow the boat with. So I would consider a fairly stock 100 series or a 96-97 80 series, depending on the truck I am prepared to kick in some money along with my truck.

New Price (if I keep the 33" and replace w/ 31") $7000.

All of the work that I have done to the truck has been within the last year. When I bought the truck it was a basket case, but the motor had recently been rebuilt (less than 5000 miles ago) and the body and frame were solid. Since them I swapped some body panel onto the truck and since it was three different colors then, I decided to repaint the truck back to the original 464 Dune Beige. The driver's side rear quarter had two small spots of rust, both the size of a quarter that were fixed. The paint job is nothing special, some runs and dings still showing, kinda a "50 footer." This truck is not a show truck, it was built to be a daily driver and still be a good trail truck, so the paint job was not the highest priority, I just wanted it all one color.

Starting at the bottom...
-New 33x10.50x15 BFG M/T KM2
-OME lift Heavy/Heavy from Cruiser Outfitters
-Removed Sway Bar
-New Brakes/ SS brake lines
-Regeared w/ FJ62 4.11 fine spline diffs.
-Rebuilt front axle
-Longfields
-Aussie Lockers in the front and rear
-2lo mod.
-New U-joints in the rear drive shaft

Engine
-Rebuilt by PO less than 5000 miles ago
-No leaks, dry as a bone
-New belts and hoses
-New A/C compressor, expansion valve, condenser, etc.
-New water pump and thermostat
-New plugs and wires
-New Carb. from Trollhole Cruisers
-Totally desmogged
-New OEM fuel pump and fuel lines
-Had valves adjusted and new gasket
-Drilled and tapped oil galley leak
-SS EGR block off plate
-New exhaust manifold gasket (no exhaust leaks)
-New exhaust from the flange back including Flowmaster muffler

Transmission and Transfer Case
-Rebuilt Transfer Case
-Very low mile H41 transmission installed
-New clutch, pressure plate and t/o bearing

With the H41 and the stock t-case gearing and the 4.11 differentials this truck has about the lowest crawl ratio you can get and still be 100% factory Toyota parts.

Armor
-Trail Gear weld on sliders
-Custom front bumper
-Hella 55 watt lights
-Cobra CB w/ 48" Firestick

Interior
-Grab Bar from Aussie 60
-OEM inclinometer/clock
-New Tuffy Console w/ stereo slot
-CD player in dash

The seats have been recovered and are in good shape. The head liner and dash are also very good. The PO removed the carpet from the rear of the truck, so I just cut a rubber bed mat and cover it. The PO also decided to remove the carpet from just the driver's side front floor, so I also covered it w/ a heavy rubber mat.

All in all this truck will not win any beauty contest, but I built it to drive to and take on the trail. I also wanted it to be super simple and bullet proof, all while staying 100% Toyota. This is a very strong truck and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.

Please PM with questions. Located in Covington, GA 30014. No Title, only Bill of Sale is required in GA for a truck 25yrs or older. I have lots of reciepts and all of the work was done by professional Toyota mechanics.

Not a bad looking truck, I like the brown interior.

Also just curious where was that picture taken of the truck in the river?

I like the 4Runner altimeter that you integrated into the dash. I may "borrow" that idea from you in the near future.

Sorry not a 4Runner inclinometer. It is OE on most JDM and Aussie 60s. Bought is here on Mud, for about $100. Fits right into the pocket.

Back light

Yes it has a backlight and a clock.

No there is no plug in the harness you have to splice in.

Nice rig. How much mileage do you on that bad boy for every day car?

I guess you are asking what kind of fuel mileage the truck get?

If so, it gets about 12-14 avg., but that is a lot of city driving, stopping and starting. The new carburator really made a huge difference with reguards to fuel economy.

nice landcruiser I must say and very capable on the trails

Someone has to want to trade a Mall Crawler/Stocker for a pretty decent trail rig?

I would also consider a V8 Tundra/Sequoia, just need something to move the boat around with.

Am I way off base with the price? I mean, I know what I have got in building the truck, but what is it worth on today's market? Somebody give me some feed back. Thanks.

In that price range, people may expect super nice paint and excellent interior. These same people may not take into consideration the time and money it takes to build a reliable trail rig. Believe me, I know what it takes.
I don't think your price is too far off, it's just that the market sucks right now. In fact, yours is the closest I'd consider trading for my 1st gen 4Runner but, you need a tow rig and I'm still not sure I'm ready to see it go. Hang in there.

Price change

I have a local guy interested in my truck, but like so many of us now a days, he has a budget. So.....

I offered to keep the 33x10.50x15 BFG KM2 M/T and replace with a set of new Dunlop M/T 31x10.5x15 that will come off my FJ75.

Here is a picture of the Dunlop tires.
