Guy called me today, needs to get rid of a 1988 FJ62.

What he told me:
Auto tranny won't go in any forward gear. But it will go in reverse, so it's not completely dead. Engine runs fine. engine rebuilt @160K, has 220K now. Rusty body, smittybuilt old-skool tube front bumper. Was his DD until tranny went out.

Vehicle is parked on Warren St. in Short North neighborhood of Columbus, OH. Got the dreaded orange tag yesterday "This vehicle must be moved 3 days, or else." So he called the scrapyard, they can come get it monday for $200/ton. Or you can buy it for $500 OBO.
If you want it, you gotta get it before the cops or the crusher takes it away.

trailer available

BTW, if anyone wants to borrow my trailer to get this thing, you're welcome to it. You'll have to bring your own tugboat. Mine is decommissioned for the foreseeable future.

GSXR, you have an early FJ40, right?

This truck would donate some good parts, like a complete, running 3FE, Power assisted front disc brakes w/ big knuckles, fine-spline 4.11 diffs, power steering w/ a little fab work...

If someone picks this up and doesn't want the motor I'd be interested. My '92 FJ80's motor is a bit tired.
Thanks,
Ron

Of COURSE one of these shows up AFTER I've spent more money on JUST the motor.  And I had to go to PA to pick up the motor I bought too... Good luck to the purchaser. I'd buy it but my brother just brought home another vehicle. We're up to 13 mostly complete vehicles on the property. Many more and I'll be sleeping in one of them!

thats the way it always works;)

Na Jim, I had it towed. What a feasko that was. Any how got it home thru a battery in it and walla, fired right up. Everything works sans the trany. Its coming out next we so it should back on the road in a couple weeks. Thanks Agian for the heads up. This thing is awsome.

fwiw....this is my brothers old 62 and he sold it for a 91 80. It sshould have some lift shackles on it and installed that front bumper. IIRC the rear tailgate interior was modified for a sub or an amp? and maybe the cargo sides? He bought it from a soccer mom in Powell. It was a great truck back then.
