Hi, all. I've got an appointment at the fabrication shop in a couple days to have a hitch receiver welded into my front steel bumper and to have a custom hitch-mounted tray created for it. Anyone else have experience welding a hitch receiver to a steel front bumper on the 200? I'm not talking about towing off of it or carrying hundreds of pounds. Just some additional cargo.

Sorry I just now have seen this. I have an ARB bumper and had a plate of 3/16 steel, welded the receiver to it and drilled holes where the bolt holes are in the bumper. Used some heavy grade bolts to bolt it on and have done this one the last three trucks I have had (Land Rover, 4Runner and now LC). Unfortunately, I had different bumpers on each truck so they would not transfer. I use it similarly in that I find it much easier to manipulate and empty trailer from the front than from the rear. Here is a pic you can zoom in on. I’ll try and post some more tomorrow night.

Very nice! I'll be doing something similar, though my hitch will be a little higher since I have a winch.

There is a standard curt hitch part that fits and bolts to where the front recovery points bolt.

Saw that. In my case, though, and at the expense of hitch capacity, I wish to preserve my clearance as well as the smooth surface of the skid plates.
