The front end of my 60 wants to fall apart (wheel shimmy) sporadically between 30-35 MPH. I'm about to replace all the spring bushings. Would this be a possible cause?

Yes it could be a possible cause.

Other options include:
- worn steering damper
- worn knuckle bearings
- loose wheel bearings
-wheels/tires out of balence
- worn tie-rod-ends
-maybe something else I'm forgetting...

Do a search for "death wobble" and that will give you a some other threads to follow.
