I have had my gx470 for about 9 months now. It has always had a small rattle on the passenger front wheel. I don't experience any real steering wheel shake.

The brakes are quite new

It has brand new shocks

wiggling the wheel in any direction when off the ground makes no noise

The noise does not go away if the swaybar endlinks are removed

Everything has been torqued up front suspension wise

The only way I can replicate the noise is by tapping the spindle right below the upper balljoint. This leads me to believe this is the problem but, every bad balljoint I have ever heard clunks. Mine sounds like there is a time of bbs strapped to the wheel. The upper control arm can be moved maybe 5mm forward or backwardswhen pried with a screw driver.

Is my culprit the control arm? Thanks

Sounds like the arm, or at least that ball joint.

Is it lifted, or just new shocks? Maybe depending how it was pulled apart, something wasn't too happy going back together

I did just put on Bilstein 6112s on the lowest setting and, I did notice that my upper balljoint was torn but, that wasn't it.

i decided to kick the tire again to see what I heard and realized it was coming from 5he hub area. I pulled the dust cover off and found the lock ring for the axle but had not been installed correctly. Rattle fixed!
