Front derailer problems

I'm having some trouble with the front derailer on my road bike. I can shift from the large chain ring to the small with no problem but when going from small to large it is really hard to get it to change gears. What could the problem be? I just got the bike from a local shop but dont want to go in and bother them if it's something really simple.

Check the cable tension.

Yup. Needs to be a bit tighter. Shift to the small ring and turn the adjuster one turn at a time, testing each time.
