I am looking to get either the Shock Works front bumper or the ARB.

Does anyone have the Shock Works? Which one is lighter?

ARB is cheaper

Shock Works will take 3 months to make.

I like my the ARB on my Tacoma but I also like the built in fog lights in the SW bumper. SW says their bumper is 98lbs and according to Expedition West the ARB is 78lbs with out winch or lights.

I def like SW bumper. However there is a 3 month wait time to make the bumper. I don't know if I can pay them and wait the long! ugh

I bought an ARB last month from 4wheelparts.com for $800 shipped (they price matched autoanything.com) and had it in 2 days. Great quality, lousy instructions. Can't see any real reason to spend nearly twice that and wait 3 months to get it.

Addicted Off-Road does a great one...

If weight is a big concern to you, Addicted Off-Road in Greeley, CO does nice pre-runner style tube work, and though I didn't weigh it, I''d estimate that it is only 80 lbs or so heavier than stock with winch mount. I had no trouble mounting and removing it for various work by myself. As far as strength goes, my 4Runner ate a Hyundai in the snow last winter (driver jammed on the brakes hard in a 55 zone for no apparent reason, but obviously I was following too close for conditions :o), and the bumper wasn't the least bit tweaked at about 40 mph impact. The Hyundai did not fare well. I caught one of Addicted's periodic sales, and got out for less than $600.

The driver's side quarter panel damage was a tree encounter up in the hills before the Addicted bumper was added.

Cheers,

Chris

I like the Addicted Offroad Tube Style bumper and will likely get one in the future. They now also offer a nice tube style bolt on rear bumper as well. I think the front bumper is around $499 now and the rear is $550. The front is now a bolt on, but can be welded on if you want.
