I searched the forum but could not find anything on front brake pad wear. I just had to replace my OEM pads on the front and only got 11 000 miles out of them. This also included a lot of highway miles so I was astounded at how little life I got from them. Anyone else have similar experience?

Were they worn evenly? Inner and outer pad wear even? --> possible caliper piston issues?

Front and back evenly worn? --> air in lines perhaps?

Front and back of each pad worn evenly? --> could be a seized caliper piston

That is a very fast wear on pads... were they Toyota pads?

My current OEM front pads have 30k on them and are at about 50% wear. Something is off if you are going through front pads that fast.

They were worn pretty evenly across all 4 pads (front). I haven't checked the back pads yet but I suspect they are fine as i did them myself about 30K miles ago . Will however check them this weekend and post back if anything interesting .

The fronts were OEM and done by dealership at same time as a brake fluid replacement service and front wheel bearing and rotor change. Interestingly enough I checked the pads 11000 miles before this was done and they were at about 50%. The multipoint inspection done at time of rotor and bearing work showed front brakes at 10 mm which is consistent with the wear Larryt experienced so they prob didn't need to change them. They definitely changed them though as I didn't have OEM's in there before.

I normally do the brakes myself but I was forced to use dealership for this one. Never again. I will keep an eye on the pad and see if wear problem persists.

Too late for pictures- tossed the old pads already
