I have no record of when the last PM was done for the front axle. I am at the point where I think every little noise is something wrong.

I am going to order the parts from CDan here soon. If anyone else is going to be in the area or planning on doing the same PM-let me know. I have done a lot of reading and it would be helpful if there are extra eyes on the know what right looks like.

I think CDan quoted me about $211 for the kit. Thoughts?

If you look at the November meeting thread there is plan to do one or two front axle services that weekend in High Point. Good time to see it first hand and meet the folks in the club.

$211 for the kit seems decent if that includes all the necessary seals, gaskets, bearings, etc. I didn't use the "Toyota" kit, but bought one from IPOR. There are also good deals on kits from Cruiser Outfitters. Make sure to get either Timken or Koyo bearings (wheel and knuckle). I would also recommend using either Toyota or Marlin Crawler inner axle seals, $5-$10.

nov. 14 in high point; listed under the monthly meeting tag. Exact locale will be given soon.

I was in 350 after the "kit" from Cdan including new truions with all the associated pieces (brake cleaner, paper towels, grease, etc)

Cruiser Outfitters $190 w/ Koyo wheel bearings. They also have the Marlin Seals, just not 100% sure if they come with the kit or not. I'll find out when I order...

You can sub and it'll add about $15, It is also about $20 cheaper with Timken bearings which I like better anyway.

As far as the Koyo vs Timken debate, keep in mind that Timken is good and Toyota also uses Timken in the factory (not just Koyo). When I rebuilt the 100 front end (1st time) it had Timken from the factory. I would choose whichever is cheaper.
