Pulled out the air-con from my 77 (in the bush, grass seeds and other stuff gets trapped between the two radiators. You'd probably notice the overheating in time, but if you happen to have given the wheel to your driver he's sure to fry the engine. Guaranteed. Trust me. And don't ask how I know).

When all the pipes, hoses, radiator, dryer, etc. were on the lawn, I stopped and considered the compressor.

Across Africa, thousands of roadside tire repair handymen inflate their tires with an old AC compressor rigged to a lawn-mower engine. Being semi-literates at best, they don't know that the compressor can't work without constant flux of oil through the circuit, the compressor doesn't know either, and the contraption works happily.

Now, here is the idea: I rig a switch from the battery to the compressor's clutch, I fit a standard air connector to the pressure hose and an air filter to the suction hose, and here I have free air for all sorts of things!

Anyone ever done this before? Advice/tips?
