I don't have my fridge yet, but I do have ARB drawers. If you don't have sliding tops on one of your drawer tops, you'll probably want to get a fridge slide. Otherwise, ya...it's going to be pretty awkward, as you say. Personally...I'll probably keep my eventual fridge in the second row (or remove half of the second row and keep it there) so that it's accessible to a passenger while driving & without opening the back.

Lots of pictures here:

...then tap the "images" link at the top.
You'll see right away why you'll want a slide out drawer top or fridge slide.

I have my fridge "hard mounted" on my fixed top drawers, no different then having it on a roller top drawer as far as height.

I have the roller top drawer in my 100, I found I simply don't use the roller to get in and out of the fridge. Here it is with a 35L ARB

Plenty of room to open the lid and even pull the basket out. So on my 200 I skipped the roller top and fixed it. Even with the 45L I can open the lid plenty to get things in and out though I have to pop the lid to get the basket out.

So the moral of the story is...to each their own. :)

Kurt is fine hard mounting. For me, that would bug me. So what I conclude is... It’s all good! Get your fridge, and if you Don’t like it fixed like Kurt (Cruiser Outfitters)... No problem! Add a slide.
