One of these things is not like the other.... one of these things just doesn't beloooong....

Firestone Destination M/T's. 285/75-16's. Replacing the worn, thredbare stockers that were rockin' for 125k miles.

The supervision. (I need lots)

Check out that negative camber back there!

The wounded patient, awating front axle service.

Looks pretty nice. Now where's the mud?

:)

While the front axle is apart you should slip some 850's in 8) Oh, wait, Yer billfold just took a bit hit :whoops:

I prefer blackout...but new tires are always nice. Getting psyched for that axle job? I had to do it again yesterday to pull a stud and retread it...total turn time was about 1.5 hours. It's just so much easier the 2nd, 3rd, 4th.... ;) time.

Actually, yes. I am looking forward to it. Mostly because it will be nice to learn something, and because it'll be nice to be able to drive that 3 ton paper weight again!

I see you use the 60 to do any real work, like carrying tires around!

Well, I would have just driven the 80 over there, but am unwilling to do so right now. I almost hate to say it in the 80 forum, but that 60 is sooooo much fun to drive.

I"m getting a large pile of goodies that should make it a little more fun too. New shocks, clutch, Hella headlights, Hella FF1000 driving lights, new Hella horn kit, functioning speakers, antenna, etc..

I'm slowly working them in...

The wifey (the 80's main driver) is adamantly opposed to a lift, but I didn't tell her I was buying 33" tires. When she saw them on she did nothing but comment on how good they looked. Now, I need to blow a shock or two out, which will FORCE me to buy new ones..... and maybe some new springs to go with it....

;)

I did realize last night that I"m going to need serious brake work on the 80 soon. My FJ60 stops better than the 80 already, and those big heavy tires are not going to help any. Those babies weigh at least 70% more than the OE tires did. I had no trouble at all tossing the Michelin's up in the back of the 60, but those new Firestone's were difficult to lift that high!

aaaaaaaaaaaaack!!! White letters in, my friend. :D

The wifey got to make the call on that since it's really her DD.

Oh well. Nice looking truck (especially the color!)

Well, the spare didn't fit, does that count?

The right most tire/wheel in the top pic is the spare for the 60, the 80's spare would not fit in the back. It's still at the tire shop.

An old gas station attendant trick was to squirt some oil on the lower shock body......"Hey Mr, yer shocks are barfin' oil all over the place......" :flipoff2:

It looks like one of those pooches needs a front axle rebuild too.

It does kind of look like he's missing an arm in that second pic, huh?

Nice dogs! What breed?

The big guy is a Alaskan Malamute. He's definatley a truck dog. Don't know much about his background, as we got him from a shelter, but any pickup we pass by he tries to jump in the bed of it. He loves the 60.

The she-devil smaller terror is a Siberian Husky. She pulls so hard on walks that it's just not funny anymore. We had to get a differnent collar so she wouldn't pull anymore. Definatly pulls alot harder than the Malamute that is twice her size.

my dog pulls when we walk him like he's training for the damn iditarod! cracks me up, esp since he's just a little fella - 25 lbs - he'll pull until he gasps for breath like he's choking to death... :)
