Hello all.

We are in the process of a proper all over repaint and with the bumpers off could see the rear frame/ hitch and the rear body mounts were in rough shape due to rust.
Crazy bc the rest of the frame seems fine.

I think an ideal situation would be to cut the frame where the factory joined it and weld on a new rear section. Does anyone know a source for that?

Second option is lifting the body and sandblasting the rust. Then, welding on new body mount tabs… how about a source for those or another model (Tundra?) that used similar body mount tabs? We could also fabricate new tabs. Don't want to.

Last option is buying a whole frame and just using the rear section.

Thank you!

I don't know where you'd get a new section of rear frame except finding a 200 with a wrecked front end.

Just how much rust? Pics? The frame welds on these rigs in salty climates (like New England) tend to get some rust but just the rear part of the frame is an odd place unless you (or a PO) were launching a boat in salt water regularly... or launched a boat into the ocean, forgot to take the LC off the boat launch, and then took a 3 month sailing trip.
