hi everyone,

i was under the truck yesterday extending the breathers and found 3/4 of a round rubber seal or gasket sitting on top of my slee transfer skid plate. it is 4-5" in diameter and is in the shape of a pulley, v shaped. i hope i'm explaining myself well enough. there is no leakage present in the area and everything works fine. could it be for dust ? i'm leaving for virginia on monday and was planning on doing some wheeling in the GWNF. how vital is this piece?
thanks for the help

i know that would help. i even have a digital camera but have never put a picture on the web. i'm at work today, 24 hrs on, 48 hrs off, i'll try tomorrow.

Boy I sure hope it's not that one critical part again. What happened to the other guy's engine - threw a rod? Or was it an overheat and then a $6500 repair bill? Can't remember. Looking forward to the pics.

no, no, the guy with the busted rubber seal had frozen his transfer case and turned his trans to pretzels...
