Hey guys / gals.

I do not get on here too often right now but i need some ideas / help. As some of you might have seen in my sig i am now the guy in charge over in FOU. I am doing some stuff going forward but i need your ideas / help. I will be posting this on a few places here soon but wanted your help first.

I want / need to do shirts / hats for FOU but i need some thoughts / pics of what you would like to see / would be willing to wear / show off. I have a new link to FOU in my sig and the better half is working on making it better slowly but surely.

Thanks everyone.

If you need to get ahold of me anytime please do so on FB or hit me up thru my website / phone.

Meh, I got nothing. Will think about it.

I got nothing helpful.... i'd think you would need something that links all that FOU does

Congratulations on your new role. I cannot think of anyone more passionate about Uwharrie than you are and hope it will be contagious.

Below are a few thoughts I have:
I just checked out the FOU website using the link in your signature. The History page needs updating (looks like the group hasn't yet launched and cannot accept donations using PayPal) and I would suggest adding a Mission or Goals page that clearly summarizes those (specific long-term and short-term objectives/goals) for FOU.

I like the idea of cool t-shirts and hats showing support for FOU and responsible use of Uwharrie. However, I would hate for FOU to invest a lot of money in an inventory of sizes they couldn't sell for a substantial profit. Maybe a better idea would be to find relatively inexpensive but useful items you can put the FOU name and website address on. You could give them to people who make donations at various events that take place throughout the year such as Jamborees. Perhaps on a monthly basis, members of FOU could man a tent at the Eldorado Outpost or one of the parking lots in the morning and around lunch time.

As far as an inexpensive item you could inventory and customize, I would think air pressure gauges might appeal to most everyone.

It might also be worth FOU offering "annual memberships". In exchange for $X, a "member" would receive an annual trail pass, a FOU vehicle sticker (think IPTAY stickers Clemson fans proudly display on vehicles reflecting they've been giving for years and years), the air pressure gauge and their name on the FOU website and fb page showing their financial support.

Somehow, FOU needs to work with Tread Lightly and BRC to reach the knuckleheads that are jeopardizing our access. I think watching a Tread Lightly video should be a requirement for getting a trail pass. Perhaps Eldorado Outpost and others that sell the trail passes would be willing to hand out FOU vehicle trashbags when people purchase their trail passes. Maybe you could get a grant to cover the cost of the bags. The bags could list some facts about the impact of littering on the environment as well as the US Forestry Service's fine for littering.

I hope some of this proves helpful. Best wishes in your new role!

Thanks David.

The website is currently ( using that term loosely ) being put onto another server and then we will be able to update it a bit more. Yes it is out of date, but until we can get it transfered we are stuck .

We are doing a yearly thing and it will come with some of the things you mention but we are trying to cover all user groups and not all people like to check their air pressure i have found. You will get different things for different levels of sponsor.
