FORUM CLOSING - time to upgrade!

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, Skimlinks, and others.

We've got a running test (using Dec 2013 data) that has everything in it...plus a 3-day rotating series of database backups on a server in NY, plus 100% of the files on that same server, PLUS another full database/file backup on the local server in Dallas.

I think things are covered :)

I somehow just knew that would be your reply, let the changeover get sorted and I think it is about time to renew my subscription.

Good luck,

regards

Dave

IF you feel compelled to continue to offer an App for Mud and your search pushes you to look for new vendors, I'd recommend you start ensuring your target consultants/providers are adroit with Xamarin as it is quickly emerging as the standard single development platform supporting both iOS and Android devices......FYI.

Sadly, there are only two options available...bad and worse. Given the quality of responsive design, I'd be surprised if anyone else bothered to enter the market.

FR used to be good...when it was PRIVATELY owned...Rob sold it, and the new corporate owners have allowed it to fall behind.

...another reason 'MUD is one of the few large PRIVATELY owned large offroad forums left...this way, it's all my fault :)

Good luck, Woody! I know you will continue to offer us the best as long as you can.

Thanks Woody.

Got a dark sense of humor Woody? The red "Forum Closing" Scared me a bit! Looking forward to the upgrade.

I think this is the same software that T4R is using so should be good :)

Yep, t4r runs on the same system and it works pretty good (although their server is a little lacking for the traffic they have over there).

Another cool feature, it will put "OP" next to the original posters name whenever he posts lower down the thread. Helps keep track of who is asking what.

It's all a great big plot by software designers to create job security! I just keep telling myself: change is good.

Thanks for the heads up. Good luck!:)

Interesting, all but one of the posters who thought the forum was closing are not supporting members. I'm surmissing by this response that only supporting members saw the banner for the new build and knew this was planned?

Hey Woody, is there any outlet we can go to for progress updates? I don't do facebook, nor do I have a twitter account but it would be kinda cool to keep posted about progress, or do you even know once the migration begins, like a progress bar?

Second question, I see that people who have posted in old threads on the new site don't reflect on the old, will the migration over write those posts that people replied to on the new forum?

Thanks and GOD SPEED!!

Scared the crap out of me. For a second I thought they were pulling the plug on the site.
