Fordyce Work day (1 Viewer)

I don't know if anybody else get the FOTF letters.

COMMITTEE TRAIL RE-ROUTE WRAP UP WORK DAY


When: October 25, 2008 9am.

Where: Meet at Fordyce Lake.

What: Transport rock from a local source less than 100 yards away and deposit in an area of seasonal water flow.

Why: To harden the area so erosion is controlled.

Duration: Estimating approximately 3 hrs.

Resources needed:

10 to 15 volunteers with gloves and strong backs. No trail exists to access the rock so we will just carry them from their present location to the new section of trail.

Additional information:

Water, sodas and snacks will be provided.

An informal trail run to Meadow Lake will follow for any interested people, water flow permitting.

If the water release is too high for the safe passage of the majority of rigs an alternate run to Signal Peak will be considered.

Closing and renovation of the existing section of Committee trail to be replaced will be scheduled for next spring.

I can't commit yet, but if anyone is going I might be able to ride along that day and move some rocks.

I've never seen fordyce, and it'll give me a good reason to buy some steel toes.

Wish it wasn't the 25th! I have to go out of town to San Diego and I get back on the 25th.
