Just in case anyone is interested.

Fordyce Creek - Below Fordyce Dam

Flow rates almost up to 1200:eek:

As a point of reference flow rates over 300 will almost cover 44" tires.

EDIT: the last time we did the trail 9/19/09 the flow was at around 275, it was sketchy but fun.

It would be a good time to go, not many others on the trail...

LOL.

Actually just an in and out to the first water crossing isn't a trivial run. It could be interesting going up the sluice right before WC#1.

I have new tires on order, maybe a day trip to break them in?

Has the avalanche debris been cleared from the trail yet? Apparently there were three slides (found by snowmobilers). So yeah a trip to the first river crossing could be a bit of a challenge.

Would that be a day run???
Might be a good test run for the rig in a few months, without having to totally commit to the whole trail? I'm dying to do that trail!!! Christ.... I'm just dying to wheel!

FOTF has a work day scheduled for this coming weekend to go in and check the avalanche areas etc. They will probably post up on Pirate next week with trail conditions.

I had dinner with Chris Collard last night (New OverLand Journal Editor in Chief). He is also the trail boss for the Sierra Trek. He said the scout team went in and turned around at the first river crossing.
