40 series For sale or partial trade for locked 80
I am selling my 77' FJ40. It runs and runs well. Can certainly be used as a DD if you wanted. I have been getting 18MPG and better with it. Listed below are all the mods. If not listed, assume that it is stock. I you have any questions, please ask.
1977 Toyota FJ40
Engine/Drivetrain: 97' Chevy Vortec 5.7L (83k when installed) mated to a 99' NV4500 transmission(rebuilt less than one year ago prior to install) mated to stock 4spd t-case. Crossflow aluminum radiator and emission free and horsepower upgraded flashed ECM. Has right about 300hp. Corvette "ram horn" manifolds. Custom exhaust w/ Magnaflow muffler. Y pipe has been thermo wrapped back to muffler. AA trans to tcase adapter and AA motor and rear tcase mounts. Rear diff has 4.10 ARB with EARLS stainless line. Front line included for future front locker install. Four wheel disc brakes with all stainless lines. Wilwood clutch master cylinder w/stainless line. T-case has 2H,2L,4H,4L ranges with no twin stick. Shifters are in factory locations. Rims are 15x8 Eagle allow 589's. Tires including spare are Goodyear MT'R 35x12.5. Warn hubs. High flow 8 blade GM clutch and fan. Engine oil cooler. Optima Yellow Top battery. Stainless steel custom fan shroud. A/C compressor in still on the engine. It works and can be used for A/C or air compressor other than the ARB. Knuckles probably could use a rebuilt as they are slowly dripping.
Exterior:
Toyota blue. Hardtop, ambi doors and front doors are rust free. Only parts of the body that are showing signs of rust are above the rear taillight guards. Other than that this truck is very clean with no dents. The driverside running board is slightly damaged as a large branch sprang up and banged it. Includes new Besttop Supertop with CC tailgate. Rear fender flares and trimmed rear fenders. Front fender lips bedlined to match rear. Does not include Roof rack as seen in picture or trailer. Supertop is now on the truck. I am repairing a small hole in the roof that the rack left behind. Just fiberglass, nothing major at all. Just need to clean it up.
Interior:
Full DOM roll cage built by Wicked Fab. Hardtop and soft top do fit over this cage. Honda Prelude seats with Crow Industries seat belts. Sliding seat rails. Interior including hard top has been sprayed with Lizardskin. This does not include any of the doors or dash. This was not done to hide any rust what so ever. Deluxe Tuffy Console, not yet installed. ARB switches and driving light switch (all contura in this location ARB Switch Panel w/Winch - Land Cruiser Tech from IH8MUD.com) and still have the factory radio delete panel. ARB compressor is also wired for a front locker for future project. Factory guages all work but are not connected other than the speedo and fuel guage. I have a seperate set of guages for the oil pressure and water temp. LED dash lamps. Check engine lamp and low voltage lamps are mounted in dash. Custom cut floor carpet for the front portion of the tub. The truck does have the door stops for the fronts but they are not connected. Also have windshield frame mounted mirrors not installed. Cobra 75wxst CB and bumper mounted antenna.
Overall this truck is clean and turn key. I would have no problem driving this across the country. All the listed mods have been performed over the last year or so and only have 3000 miles on them, including the tires. It has only ever thrown one engine code(TPS circuit) and may come on once in a blue moon. There is no problem with the TPS circuit but the ECM picks up continued voltage changes, such as drivng and not keeping the pedal steady. This may be because it is an autozone part. As mentioned, it does nothing to the vehicle but turn on an Orange light. I have wheeled it but not that hard since I am still running the stock axles up front. Its fun but am looking to get into a larger wagon. Looking for $10,000 for this drive away truck.
