I wasn't going to put this on "Mud" but then I figured, why not, that is where people of good taste hang out!!
We bought this car from the original owner in 2004. It was pampered by an older couple, he past away and she didn't drive it much at all for 5 yrs. We have only put 2K miles on it.
It only has 76K miles.
This is a beutiful all original car, all paint, interior etc.!! Also, underneath is as clean as above.
It still has of the original, unused, tool kit and first aid kit.
Engine is a 3.0L 5 cylinder turbo deisel. This engine is known for its durability and longevity.
It drives fantastic!
It has:
Power Windows
Power Locks
Original AM/FM Cassette, power antenae
Power brakes, 4 wheel disc
Power steering
Manual moon roof (not glass)
Included are 3 Mercedes shop manuals, Engine, Chassis and Body (pd. $242).
New $200 heavy cotton car cover.
New front calipers.
New dash light rheostat.
New Interstate battery.
New Tach sensor.
New brake hoses.
K&N filter.
New fuel lines.
New tires just before I bought it.
Other bits serviced:
Trany.
Rear differential.
Brake system bled.
This car booked for $42K when new.
The AC needs serviced, does not blow cold, we never used it because we only drove it in mild weather.

This car looks good in pictures and looks even better in person!

Asking $12,000

What does it get for mileage - "City"? "Hyway"?

I have never check the mileage, based on other accounts that I have read, the mileage will range from mid 20's to low 30's. I just put up a post on a MB forum asking this question, if I get some good info I'll let you know.

That is a nice one. :) I like the color. I got 300K on the same engine. It will get low 20's around town and mid 20's on the highway. You will not see close to 30 mpg unless you drive 55 mph on the highway.

This is a good place to post it.

Thanks!

That is a sweet ride, brother. I had one from the same era, an '80 280TE, which was a grey-market gasoline engine import. It never looked as nice as yours. Good luck.

Why are you selling it?

We have 6 vehicles, 1 bus, 4 trailers, 1 ATV.........something has to go, the Mercedes needs to go to a home that might drive it more than we have. I'm trying to get where i can fit everything comfortably in our barn.

Wanna make an offer?
I am willing to negotiate delivery.:)

I'm very, very interested.

As you can tell by my signature, I'm an avid MB nut...and used to collect classics but have since sold off the ones I mothballed and am left with the ones I actually drive (Although the 500 is one I don't drive much at all but is the funnest of all the cars I've ever owned).

I need to reconcile my fleet as well. Give me a few days to figure out what exactly I want to do. Originally I was going to purchase a C63 in the next few weeks but going classic instead of new pleases me more than not. And quite frankly, I truly feel that my life would be shortened with almost 500hp at my disposal from the C63.

You've got a very nice wagon there. I'll get back in touch soon.
