oops, looks like you have to log on, here's a cut and paste of the ad:

" FOR SALE: 1982 Land Rover 88" Series III ("Breta")

As many of you know, I bought this truck from Len (Xrover) a couple years ago, and STILL have yet to even drive the thing! However, due to a lot of reasons right now, it has to go.

I cant seem to find all the specs on it right now, but maybe Len will chime in with some help. Any questions about it, post em here and I'll answer best I can (with some help from Len I'm sure and hope! ) OR you can email me at xterrapete@gmail.com

It had a diesel engine swap done just before I bought it, and has yet to be driven, so essentially has a brand new rebuilt engine too! This is a GREAT rig for someone looking for a new toy at a reasonable price. She is tried and true, and very solid.

I'm asking the same excellent deal that Len let me "steal" it for: $6000, but am open to reasonable offers as well, as I need it gone sooner than later. It is located right now at Land Rover Salvage up in Madoc.

and here's what the PO before this owner had to say...

" I will fill in the details as she is neat and dear to my heart. The first real rover I bought.
1982 Series III, short wheel base
- 4 speed/4wheel selectable drive
- newly rebuilt diesel 2.25l engine with a brand new turner head (a true water puppy)
- right hand drive - not too hard to get used to, easier for lefty's

Interior
- upgraded hi back seats
- roll bar
- lockable tuffy box
- very utilitarian - not much more to offer

Exterior
- truck cab (the full top is available at my cottage if you want to come up and get it)
- 33" BFG MT's mounted on wolf military rims
- rock sliders (not chinese sliders)
- snorkel
- rocky mountain transfer case cover (better heat distribution)
- new old stock (okay it was new 2 years ago) 1968 Bamford PTO winch, with in-cab contols (she'll winch all day)
( a side note if you want to know the strength of the winch. I left it engaged when I was first using it, so it started to pull and it pulled my winch saver through the hawse, and then snapped the 18,000lb synthetic line). - p.s. there is no line on the winch).

Off road capability
- her biggest advantage is she's nimble. I usually keep up and keep in the crowd on most trails. She'll climb where many won't think she'll climb.
- her biggest disadvantage is she's got open diffs - but when has this every stopped me. With the PTO winch you can pretty much get out of anything. "
