UPDATE:

This is a funny story. So I took the pig to go visit my parents today. On the way home, I smell something funny. I pull over and I'm low on coolant. Out of NOWHERE, another Land Cruiser owner pulls over to help me out. I never see Land Cruiser owners on the street. WOW. Nice guy. His name is Josh. Anyway, he gives me some water and I think I'm good to go.

Well, it turns out that funny smell was my belt burning. The alternator froze. So, the piggy will be getting a new belt and alternator this week. It wouldn't leak for me after we filled it, but the fact that it was low means there must be a slow leak somewhere. I will diagnose when I put the alternator in.

Many thanks to Josh (FJ40Lover) for stopping to help this pig owner.

Saw you on the 101 this week...great ride!!

No worries - my pleasure! Nice specimen of a 55 if I do say so! Best of luck on the sale, that one has been kept up pretty well for all the Piggy's I have seen. I hope it goes to a local, it would be good to keep it in the LC community / group.

those pix were taken right up the street from my house. Good looking truck , and RHD with amby doors?... SICK! Good luck with the sale brother.

Thanks. This pig is definitely CLEAN and well kept compared to all the other ones I've seen in person. The new owner will not be disappointed.

By the way, if you need a nice safe place to store the 55 while your selling it, and someone to drive it now and again for visibility and to keep things running you can drop it off at my place any time!

Haha, thanks. ;)

There is a lot of interest in this pig already, so I think I'm good. I imagine it will be sold quite soon.

How did the sale go? Would be a sweet piggy, definitely rare now.
I noticed the tail lights are different to the one I had here in Australia, they are higher up, mine were low and all together.
Is that a geographic thing or a year thing?

Tail lights changed 9/77 (78 model) to included the reverse lights. These were the same in all markets. Prior to 9/77 US used an all red lens. Australia used amber red.
