For guys in OZ: is your steering system a mirror image of the US 80's?

Just curious, I was thinking it would be handy to have an under-knuckle steering arm that is a mirror image of the one on the right-side of my 80. Do the right-hand driver 80's in OZ and NZ have the same steering as the US, only reversed?

Anyone have one in nice shape laying around? I need to make high-steer arms for an 80 axle going under my 4Runner, and figured I could tie into the lower arms for additional support. But I only have a double-arm for the right-side.

LHD is a mirror image of RHD. The panhard rod is also reversed.

Even if that were true, I'm pretty sure the parts have differences.

Of course some pieces do. The steering arms are not reversable and are specific to RH or LHD. The tie rod is exactly the same and the relay rod is as well, it is flipped as is the panhard rod. The axle housing is different as the panhard rod mount is on the LH side as opposed to the RH side on a LHD vehicle. The frame is different for obvious reasons as the steering box is on the opposite side.

Exactly right! If they were reversible there wouldn't be any reason to try to find a steering arm from an Aussie RHD truck, I could just pick up another steering arm from a US truck and put it on backwards...LOL.

Yer avitar is a bit distracting.......I think.......:flipoff2:

Of course, I suppose I could just use the original arms flipped backwards, since I'll be relocating the tie-rod and drag-link above the leaf springs and in front of the axle "mini-truck high-steer" style. I think the passenger-side end of the arm (that connects to the drag link) might be a bit higher than it is on the tie-rod end though, which would be better for my high-steer arm reinforcement purposes.

Gotta have pink panties to go with the LX though.
