Not a new issue for me but finally getting to me. I can't pick up signals very well for FM stations. Barely able to listen where we get clear signals in everything else. Antenna goes up and down fine. Signal improves and weakens as you raise and lower.

Any suggestions for easy attempts to fix?

Sounds like you have other issues but just for reference the antenna length at full height is for AM reception and if you want the best reception for FM you should lower it slightly due to wavelength differences. You will here the sweet spot when you hit the right height.

Antenna wire has 2 conductors. It is possible one is broken or touching each other that would cause issues. You could use a meter for that.

Power antennas aren't really that great since the sections move and can make a poor connection.

You could try unplugging one of the antennas and see if that helps. Just the rear window or just the power could be bad.

I hate how my power antenna looks so I keep it down and have it y'd with the back one and plugged into my aftermarket deck and get pretty good reception.

Had my antenna MHz tested and it read as full strength according to the shop. They figured the head unit was not picking up analog stations as well as HD. I don't know. Guess that's why I have the Bluetooth unit to my phone so I can use it.
