I've heard some people mention Fluid Film Fluid Film® | Corrosion Preventative, Lubricant and Rust Inhibitor) around here for protecting there vehicle and I though I would give it a try. My Cruiser has zero rust and I would like to keep it that way. I have never driven it on the salty roads but may need to this year. I was thinking of spraying it in the wheel wells and around the bottom of the truck because of some chips. The one thing I am concerned about is will the Fluid Film trap the moisture, if there is any, on the surface and create rust in the future. I didn't see anything on the website about displacing moisture and was interested in any personal experiences. Thanks for any input. Jeff

Hey rfj62,
I was born in bucks county pa. When I moved to Utah for the winters 5 years ago from Alaska, I experienced salty roads for the first time of my cruisers life. Alaska does not use salt, However Utah does....heavily! The best thing for your cruiser is to wash it out daily!!!! Get under it and spray it out daily. I have never used any preventative products but it does sound interesting. I am just about ready to complete a rust fixing job in 10 days. I am at day 8 right now. I may look into some preventive products too.

Heard fo people using LPS 3 lubricant. it leaves a heavier waxy like film over the applied part, I would still wash my truck when possible tho.

I'll definitely wash it as much as possible but would also like to take an proactive approach to ensure that no rust starts up.

Utah winters are better then Alaskan winters?

I run a guided backcountry snowmobiling outfit during the winter here in Utah. Its more about the $$$ and the better snow till spring.
I do miss the Alaska winters though...
