Ok.. Chef's spoken with the owner, and here's the scoop
Owner, Ron Maximoff, owner of www.flatnasty.net
850 or so acres, 23 trails, 50+ miles of trails, and he says you'll
never get all of them run in one weekend.
No water or electric, but they do have well serviced porta-johns.
Details of possibility of an event or just overall use as a club outing
Cost would be ~$30 per vehicle for 3 days,
Onsite food options if we have an event, they have a guy who will do
BBQ for $7 per plate, and will pack lunches too.
They can provide trail guides as well, no charge.
They also want to help with rafffle prizes. whoo hoo!!!!
The Current River runs thru their site, and the canoe rental folks will
actually pickup and drop off there at no extra charge.
So.. Chef and I wanna go check it out, prerun some stuff, get more info, etc. we as a club can do a really easy event here, I know a guy that helps with TLCA insurance, a simple possibility is an open event, we're not sure on if they charge for camping or not yet. So.. Thoughts, ideas? I'm pretty busy but if we wrap up stuff soon and make a date, we can get a simple signup in the trails etc and get insurance etc lined up. So anyone wanna prerun? Texas is 1st weekend in March, I have a bachelor party in March approx 17th and a wedding the following weekend. but I wanna go check it out..
Chris and Mike? you two wanna see about coming up sometime soon? Whoelse would be interested?
Anyone interested? Discuss! please.. This is an easy way to put our club on the map in a big way!
Thanks all! EC
