My flashers/ hazards come on in my 2006 100 series whenever it rains or I go through a car wash. It happens only after I turn off the truck. As soon as I start the engine again the flashers stop.

I don't know if the windshield has ever been replaced (asked in a previous similar thread). It has been doing it ever since I bought it a year ago. If I pull the fuse and wait several hours the problem resolves. I have a warranty but I'm sure the stealership would try to find some way to screw me if I take it in.

I have tried replacing the fuse. Thoughts?

Have you removed, or messed with your roof rack at all?

I had similar electrical problems when I pulled off my roof rack before I put some hardware back in the holes.

Pull the glovebox and the plastic panel underneath it the next time you're having problems and see if everything's wet in there.

You might want to check your flasher relays. If they've been wet from a leaking dash, windshield or whatever they may have corrosion which might explain the strange behavior.

This is Deja Vu all over again for me. A few years back, my 2004 LC100 had its windshield replaced and then started to show the exact symptons you describe. Mine were occassionally worse but always tied to a car wash or rain. I won't tell you the super long story but.... there was a bad seal on the windshield that leaked into the cabin in a place that I coudln't see. Finally, after (literally) months of being stranded and being frustrated, a mechanic heard me yelling at he service manager so he put down his ham and cheese, walked over to the truck, put his hand under the carpet and panel and said, 'here's your problem!!!"

You may not be able to feel the water with shoes on, or with your hand if you have mats or aren't looking in the right place.. but after you check the relay, do this...

Go to the passenger side of your LC in the front where a passenger would put their right foot, pull up the floor mat, pull up the carpet (it will go back down) and check the padding. Then check under the padding. The areas you are searching is the vertical wall to the right of the passengers foot. There is a main CPU in that location. When it gets wet, all kinds of things blink or go wrong. Here is the deal though.. you need to do this after it rains or go through the car wash 2 times. I found out the hard way, it wasn't much water and it would dry between the time I dropped the car at the dealer, and the time the mechanics got to it.

When it was all said and done, the windshield company had to reimburse me for $3000K worth of faux repairs and diagnosis expenses. You caught yours early so maybe not so bad.

I don't check this site much but PM me if you have questions. The PM will shoot me an email.

Update: Recent soaking rain. No signs of moisture after pulling up the carpet but no ghost in the flashers either. Have tomorrow off. Will test in the carwash.
