The recent cold weather had me cursing every time the liftgate fell on my head while loading my dogs. Then when I had the hood up I noticed oil was oozing out of one of the hood struts. Time to replace all the struts. I generally don't like replacing OEM Toyota parts with aftermarket stuff but in this case a pair of Toyota liftgate struts cost $200+ whereas a set of Strongarm struts cost $40. There were enough people on the forum that had good results with them that I thought they were worth a try. I got both sets from Lift Supports Depot. They come with all the brackets and it takes about 15 minutes to do front and back. They work great now and hopefully will last a few years. The part numbers are Liftgate: 6781 L & R , Hood: 4551 L & R

Great timing on the strut post. I was changing my oil Friday afternoon and the hood fell and mashed my work light. Time to order some struts!!

Thanks Shawn. I'll be doing this as well.

Bought mine. They are sitting out on the workbench waiting to get installed.

These are a great deal and easy to install. Installation took literally 5 minutes.

Good to go, 5 min install time. Thanks Shawn!

I ordered a set of Strong Arms for the rear hatch on the 100. Tired of the hatch falling on my head in the cold and failing to assist when raising.

The hood struts are still pretty strong and are operating well. Will leave those alone for now.

I received the incorrect arms on the first delivery, despite all the correct part numbers on the order and packing slip. Received the correct ones on the second attempt and got them installed. Super easy install and oh joy what fun it is to have a properly functioning hatch. The added assist when raising the hatch is stupendous.
