Went out Sunday with some friends to do some light hiking and to enjoy the nice weather. Plan was to head up to Great Barrington MA for dinner.

We did some hiking at Dennis Hill State Park in Norfolk CT and then headed north to Campbell Falls. After a few turns on some dirt roads, things got interesting.

We got to explore some old class VI roads. There was a bit of mud and I had to go into 4 wheel drive.

Now this was not exactly wheeling. We did get a couple of miles in until there was a tree across the road/trail and we had to go back. A very mild stock trail.

Looking at a map, there may be some decent stock trails in the area.

Anyway, it was fun. Got mud on the FJC and had it in 4 wheel drive, so I guess I can say I wheeled it.

Nothing like what I do in my 55 but it was off highway.

I may have to go back to do some exploring.

I got the FJC back in the end of August. I've put over 3,000 miles on it.

It's up close to 14,000 miles.

I'll need to find a free weekend to go back. I won't go alone, so I'll post and see if I can get a few volunteers to join me.

Why wasn't this at the Fall Gathering?

I'd be interested when you head back out that way.

But also, you could bring your FJC back to NH next weekend to explore some of the Class VI roads Stinktyfinger knows so well. There will be stock-friendly stuff AND some tougher options for those with FJCs that have lift and armor.

BTW - you don't have to be driving an FJC to join us. Anyone is welcome.

I'm still a bit chicken to really wheel the FJC. Heck, a scratch would upset me.

The 55 is my real wheeler. I know it, I'm comfortable wheeling it and I do not worry too much about minor scrapes and scratches.

I looked at the stock run in NH but can't make it. I like those trails and led a stock run over some of them at last years FG.

We are still in the planning stages of a winter run on those same trails.

They won't be quite so easy with some snow on them.

TTIUWP! :flipoff2:

I'm as finicky about my FJC, but unlike you I'm just getting used to the tame stuff. Still fun for me - and not going to break an FJC, but probably not much of a challenge for someone who's used to wheelin in his 55 ;)

Can't wait to hear more about the winter run.
