I don't see any spark coming out the ignition coil high tension wire.

I thought it was the ignition coil so I replaced it without any luck.

If the contact points were really bad and the small capacitor is shot, would this happen?

Please help me diagnose this, thank you.

Try a hot wire from positive battery to positive coil that will give you ignition with out the cars ignition system. If you get spark work your way back along the wiring with a multi meter.

Thank you. I replaced the points and condenser and it worked better than ever.

And just for fun I tested the old coil and found out the primary coil's resistance at 14 ohms, that's higher than anywhere I read (usually the limit is 2 ohms). I also found a hole where one of the contact points used to be.

I think I set the points correctly, but I tested Dwell with the voltmeter and it was 54. Does that mean the points gap was too wide or too narrow? My method was rotating the engine until the old points are open against one of the distributor cam lobes the installed the new ones in that position and gapped it to 0.3mm. But the Dwell is high
