I have tried searching but haven't found a thread that seems quite discuss the issues I am having. Engine will start and drive but when I try to accelerate it sputters and has a serious lack of power. Once I finally get up to speed and just keep that pace it seems to run fine, but if I attempt to accelerate or god for bid come to a hill back to sputtering. Along this when I am at idle RPMs will drop off and on till it eventually dies. It will then start back up and if keep on the gas a bit it will stay running. I have changes fuel filter, checked for vacuum leaks, and thinking it may be cat issue pulled them and drilled them out(i know, this is no good, just till i get the new ones) and still having issues. I've got about 5,000 miles on plugs and wires. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.:bang:

Does it do it just under load ? What happens if you just step on the gas pedal in park ?

I was actually just testing that, in park in revs just fine. Issue only occurs under load.

I'll see if I can find anymore info on those plates. Thanks. If I am not mistaken isn't the EGR primarily for California emissions compliance?

Not getting enough fuel. Fuel pump, fuel filter, pressure regulator, injectors. I would start with checking fuel pressure.

I did change the filter I was really hoping to not have to get into the pump and what not but I will check into it, thank you.

Something somewhat similar happened to my rig and I found that taking off the intake manifold/ throttle body did wonders for me. Course I also had alot of sludge buildup. Probably wouldn't hurt to make sure your distributor hasn't slipped slightly out of timing as well. Kind of a shot in the dark but could try replacing the pcv valve. $6 with the gasket and if it hasn't been replaced in a while it couldn't hurt. If you're getting spark and air that only leaves fuel to be desired

Check your intake hose for cracks, typically runs poorly at all RPM ranges when this happens, but worth taking a look.

Good luck with repair.
