I have a 2001 Tacoma PreRunner. Would FJ60 or 62 rims fit my truck? I have the 6 lug factory wheels currently on her. I've always liked how the older LC wheels looked.

I have ran my '84 FJ60 rims on my 95.5 Tacoma for about 30,000 miles.

They rock! Loook pretty cool too!

The only concerns I have are regarding backspacing, and if your local tire shop can balance lug-centric rims.

I run the rims of my '72 on my '83, and there is only one shop in all of Sonoma County that can balance them, and, ironically, they're the only tire shop here that's worth a damn.

Spacers can fix the backspacing.

They fit fine, backspacing is not an issue as the 60 rims are 3.75" (less than stock)

They look sweet wrapped in BFG 33x10.5s, my buddy runs them on his Taco.

I run them on my 2004 Tundra with spacers as needed (only to clear the caliper)

They clear the front brake calipers fine, and actually stick out to the sides more than my junky aluminum stock, basic, old-style rims.

The stock Tacoma rims do not clear the front calipers on my FJ60 though, as there is not enough backspacing...

Combat Chuck- the FJ60 rims are different than the FJ40 rims...

Combat Chuck- Thanks for the info. I did not even know about lugcentric vs. hubcentric until this and a search.

I had always noticed that the holes for the rims were larger than they needed to be for the lugs on Toyotas...I am doubting my local podunk tire shop has any fancy balancer...so now I may be loooking for a different tire shop, or a set of white or black spoke wheels.

It was a eye-opener for me. It also explained alot of the funny vibes in my truck at speeds.

If anything, I'd look for a shop that either has techs that know what the heck the difference is if asked, or has older machinery. IIRC lug-centric was the way to go on many steel wheels until the last 15 years or so, so you may have luck with a shop with older gear.
