Well today I finally got around to replacing the burnt bulbs in the dashboard heater controls and dome lights, as well as installing a nice 12v power socket where the lame broken cig lighter used to be, but...

What kind of freaky bulb goes in that rear dome light socket? I couldn't find one to fit at my local crappy parts place.

Other things recently accomplished:

New radiator, back flushed heater core after a muriatic acid soak, and got loads of rust and gravel sized particles from the thing. Now Ive got heat. :hillbilly:

I get what you are saying, but I do not have that kind of money to spend on dome lights.

I'm talking bulbs here people. Need bulbs, good old cheap dim-ass bulbs.

Check out taskled.com Best thing going. I think it's the same for a 62. Will post the link in a minute.

I would get led's from taskled.com.

They are the best $64 I have spent on my crusier. (for both front and rear led's)

x2!

I believe it is a oem only bulb. Cheap fix...stick one of those Sylvania "Dot-It" LED units back there, tons of light.

If someone else tells me to buy a TaskLED I'm going to have a heart attack. Please stop. I'm askin about a part number for bulbs here. Wow, I wish I had the kind of cash to spend that much on a DOME LIGHT. Yeah I'm sure its neat, but I've got headlamps, lanterns, led maglights, and a plug-in-the-lighter-socket bendy halogen lamp thing from Radio Shack that was 5 bucks and it works great, I do NOT NEED A $50+ dome light upgrade. :bang:

Still need this bulb? I might have one in the garage. Otherwise call Dan.

The bulbs used for the FJ60 dome lights are called Festoon Bulbs. The toyota part numbers are (for 12V system):

Front: 99132-12100
Rear: 90981-11004

People are recommending the LED replacement bulbs because they are brighter and the light seems to be better quality and the LED bulbs last longer than filament bulbs. Also, the LED's use much less power. If you are prone to leaving your doors open with the interior lights on, the LED won't run your battery down as quickly.

An alternate to the Task LED product is here: Super Bright LEDs - Festoon Base Bulbs

I purchased the 31mm High Power for the front dome light and it works fine. The 31mm is too short for the rear, but the 37mm is too long. I have a TaskLED in the rear now, so I didn't fiddle with bending the lamp holder contacts to see if I could get the 31 or 37 to work.
