To me it is because you already have the parts and 5 speed is not as desired, especially with big wheels and a trailer 5 speeds sucks.
I don't use 5th that much because you need to be on the flat straight highway and on a sand road 5th is not usable.
With front and rear aussie locker the driveline "swing" when going form 4th to 5th is noticeable (don't know how to describe)

I love my 5th gear. I have an 87 60 with 33’s and swapped from 4 to 5 speed. I use 5th daily and only have to downshift to 4th on long or steep hills. Some complain about the deeper 1st gear but I like that too. Forest roads, etc I can idle along in first or even use second and treat it like an auto and never shift between 5-20 mph.
Never driven an auto 62 but I haven’t heard anyone complain that has swapped to either 4 or 5 speed.
